The desire for greater productivity and the need for access to business-critical information are driving companies to look at mobility devices and solutions as integral parts of their technology strategies.

In 2012, expect a transfiguration shift in how end users interact with corporate information resources. The needs mobility addresses are widespread, touching nearly every process and vertical market, and are fundamental to the way any business operates. 2012 will be remembered as the year of the true transformation of the enterprise.  Daryl Plummer, managing vice president-Gartner said "going into 2012 there is an increase in the amount of information available to organizations, but it's a challenge for them to understand it. Given the shifts in control of systems that IT organizations are facing, enterprise mobility will certainly pave the way for new era of data usage and application performance."

Sanjay Dhawan, President And CEO, Symphony Services expects 2012 to be a great year for enterprise mobility but with customization of application and usability. " In 2012, expect pressure on R&D budgets as companies remain cautious on the overall business.  Having said that, the pressure to innovate and introduce new products has never been higher. We see more and more of our customers expecting  next generation innovative products and solutions."

In 2012-13, the investment bubble will burst for enterprise mobility market. By 2016, at least 50 percent of enterprise email users will rely primarily on a browser, tablet or mobile client instead of a desktop client. The pace of change over the next four years will be breathtaking. Increased pressure will be on those suppliers to accommodate an increasing portfolio of collaboration services.

Frank Gens, IDC says, "perhaps the single biggest theme of 2012 will be that it is the "year of mobile ascendency" in virtually all dimensions — in devices, applications, and networks." In 2012, mobile devices and apps will finally, unquestionably be the number one client portal to the digital world. One reason for Enterprise Mobility to be in 2012 trends is the emergence of social technologies for business." In 2012, social technologies and practices will be acquired and integrated as core competencies.

Analysts finds that 34% of organizations are investing in mobile applications and 26% have mobile business applications in place. The investment rate exceeds the current adoption rate, which is a strong indicator that adoption is on an upward trajectory. Enterprise Mobility is helping many organizations rethink their business models.

Five key trends that will help shape your enterprise mobility policy and process include: the rise of social media as a business application; the further blurring of workplace locations; the emergence of versatile new mobile devices; the technical prowess of employees; and the influx of more demanding millennial generation employees.

By 2015, 35 percent of enterprise IT expenditures for most organizations will be managed outside the IT department's budget. Next generation digital enterprises are being driven by a new wave of business managers and individual employees who no longer need technology to be contextualized for them by an IT department.

According to a recent Gartner survey, 30% of large organisations cited enterprise mobility as their top business priority for 2012. Today’s workers are not static. They are constantly on the move and need to have instant access to information anywhere, anytime.

Keith Higgins, Chief Marketing Office, Symphony Services, says "In the past, the enterprise tended to be a closed and homogenous place. Employees would typically use one type of device – like a Blackberry – to communicate amongst themselves. Enterprises now have to grapple with a dizzying array of business and connected mobile devices, all of which need to communicate seamlessly and securely with one another."

Organisations will address this challenge in 2012 by outsourcing their enterprise software mobility development. Enterprises Mobility market is predicted to grow to $7670.4 Million by 2016. Brian J Manning, President and Managing Director, CSC India, says "We are experiencing an increased demand in testing services for mobility apps. We expect this to increase further in 2012. With rise in the numbers of private application stores, mobility services are acting as fuel in promoting information communication technology globally. Thus new applications that are developed by any organization, must leverage rich browser and mobile devices to support end-user demands for a movement from PCs to mobile devices."
