UK Government selects Lockheed Martin to Broaden Cloud Solutions



It's not ordinary, if you come across G-Cloud news. So when UK-Government selects Lockheed Martin to broaden their cloud computing services, it's determinated to create ripples. Lockheed Martin UK has been selected by the Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom (U.K.) to provide G-Cloud IT services across the full complement of Government departments and organizations.

Lockheed Martin- the American global aerospace and defense giant, will offer a wide range of services to UK-government, including cloud strategy, security and integration services. The UK's G-Cloud concept, known as "Cloudstore", is part of a new way for UK government to infuse cloud solutions into IT products and services.

As per the official Lockheed Martin's official press release, the initial U.K. G-Cloud agreement (CloudStore), will run for six to nine months, which may be traslated into a rolling contract. Quoted in the press release, contract. Mahesh Kalva, chief technology officer- Lockheed Martin’s Enterprise IT Solutions organization, stated- Lockheed Martin is thrilled to implement our cloud computing offerings to the U.K. government. He expressed, their expertise and proven solutions will prove benefitial for the UK-government. Lockheed Martin have chronicled the success initially across diverse U.S. government customers.

Prior of this deal, Lockheed Martin has been IT prime contractor for the 2011 Census (UK). Lockheed Martin have been well popular in the government circles for their trademarked cloud-service, what they call, LM-Solutions as a Service (SolaSTM).
